Oh Sheet!
A Ghost!

Capstone School Project

Oh Sheet! A Ghost!: Welcome

About the Game

TL/DR: I worked on UI and HUD for this project as well as the mechanics and code for the Colored Floor Puzzle that is found in most of the levels.

Oh Sheet! A Ghost! was our final capstone project that we worked on as a team.  Overall all we each had our own mechanics and levels to work on - while still making them feel like they flowed well together once we were done with them.  This required multiple iterations of everyone's level along with strenuous testing multiple times a day.  The game was about a small ghost boy that had lost his ghost cat friend.  Needing to find the cat, the player follows the path of the cat - by way of cat paw pickups leading the way - trying to find it in an abandoned creepy mansion.

My part of the process came from the colored puzzle pads that were one of the puzzle parts of the game.  The player would have clues laid around the maps for them to explore and come across - then the player would take the info they got from those clues and change the color of the floor puzzle depending on what color sheet they had equipped at the time.

Once the player had the entire color puzzle complete - an event would happen.  A door opening or unlocking, a set of stairs phasing in to allow access to higher places, or even walls phasing out to allow the player to continue in certain areas.  Below are some images of the mechanics and prefabs that I worked on during my time in the group.

I mainly worked on the UI design that you see in the images below, and the colored floor puzzles.  They had several different functionalities to them - so it depended on which level you were in on what it did specifically.  I also created the loading screens for our game - I tried making it feel creepy but also aesthetically pleasing to match the game.  Please enjoy the images I have made available!
